Floral Field Representative
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic individual to represent our company in the Michigan area. This candidate will represent our beautiful flowers in a role that is interesting and rewarding. Flower experience is not required, but must have great people skills.
Position Description: This full-time position requires local travel five days per week visiting supermarkets and occasional overnight travel.
Primary Objectives: To report on follow through and execution of the established programs in the Floral department. To communicate to stores in a way that affects positive change and improved results. To establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with retailer supervisors responsible for floral.
Reporting relationship: Reports to Field Rep Coordinator. In this role the candidate’s responsibility is to assist and coach supermarket staff on quality and execution of corporate planograms.
Duties and Responsibilities
Store Visits
- Visit 3-5 stores per day, and rotate visits so that all stores in the assigned group are visited in the regularity agreed upon at time of assignment.
- Train and mentor stores on how to handle and care for product.
- Assess store execution of merchandising programs as set forth in the established playbook.
- Gather feedback from store personnel that can improve the program
- Work with stores to make needed changes immediately
- Evaluate product quality and design, and provide feedback
Working with retail supervisor(s)
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationship with the local supervisor for floral departments
Reporting
- Using an online portal, log in and complete store visit reports each day.
- Store visit reports will include overall store readiness, execution of each item in the playbook, product quality and design comments, and store feedback.
Competitive Analysis
- Complete competitive analysis reports periodically as required
- Provide immediate updates on new competitive activity with details and photographs
Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Experience in retail environment and customer service; supermarket experience preferred. Floral knowledge and experience are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
- Self-starter, results-focused individual who works well on day to day basis without direct supervision
- Excellent communications skills with ability to build relationships with and influence store staff in a positive way
- Good organizational skills
Job Requirements
- Must have own car and be able to drive as necessary to assigned locations
- Availability to work generally between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Days of work are usually Monday through Friday, with an occasional weekend day required.
- Ability to bend and lift up to 30#. Able to see color.
