- Perform and prioritize all duties and tasks of the department with a positive attitude realizing tasks from cleaning to display to design work are all important aspects in a floral setting.
- Provide information to customers for proper plant or produce care and maintenance.
- Perform duties in a competent and timely manner.
- Act as mentor to new floral department employees.
- Know how to place orders with all vendors using a high level of skill, taking under consideration what product is needed to fill orders.
- Know product movement and is able to order according to the product movement and customer needs. Able to take into account delivery days and product availability.
- Make sure all vendor deliveries are processed in a timely manner, following department guidelines while maintaining the flow of the department.
- Take phone orders in a pleasant and knowledgeable manner. Has knowledge of all information needed to convey to customer regarding availability of product, special ordering procedures, payment procedures and all delivery information necessary for good customer service (such as time recipient is available to accept the delivery, specific directions to the house or workplace, etc.) Knows food safety policies and Co-op restrictions for product delivery at all times.
