Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174’. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space.
Basic Functions:Provide floor care to all walkable surfaces of the Resort. This includes, but is not limited to concrete, tile, linoleum, carpets, and hardwood floors through:
- Timely completion of floor care areas based on a schedule
- proper care of floor machinery
- ability to anticipate and recommend floor care needs
- promote a safe work environment
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service
- Ability to understand and comply with proper cleaning techniques and procedures
- Ability to operate a vacuum, mop and properly use cleaning equipment and supplies
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery as required in the performance of job duties
- Ability to timely complete assigned tasks, identify and investigate issues and resolve basic matters
- Ability to follow an appropriate course of action based on Policies and Procedures
- Attention to details with excellent organizational skills and efficient time management
- Have a consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining professional, flexible, and efficient
- Ability to make minor repairs to work equipment
Essential Functions:
- Performs all aspects of floor care including cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, power washing and carpet cleaning/shampooing, etc.
- Walk all assigned spaces at beginning and end of shift to evaluate and maintain hotel cleanliness standards.
- Provides additional custodial support, as directed by the leadership team of the department.
- Knowledge of the machinery and chemicals (waxes, strippers, etc.) appropriate to the flooring material
- Perform cleaning, maintenance and repair duties associated with hard and soft surface floors with appropriate equipment.
- Promptly reports to management of all emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems, and safety hazards.
- Arrange and maintain furniture in public space areas as needed to prevent damage to floors.
- Be responsible for providing the soft and hard surface Floor Care in the public space areas and guest rooms of the Hotel in a sanitary and attractive manner.
- Comply with all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting.
- Be knowledgeable on hotel amenities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
- Impress guests with quality and timely service in a professional, pleasant, and friendly manner.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Environment/Specifications:
Interior/exterior hotel environment, usage of equipment and machines, exposure to various climates and elements, and uneven surfaces. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crawling, reaching, lifting.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least one year’s customer service experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of floor care and maintenance required (carpet, hardwood floors, tile, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter/motivated
The compensation for this position is $15.50/Hr. - $18.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
