Job description

Oakbrook Corporation is seeking a Floating Maintenance Technician with strong people skills and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate understands that in our business, the tenant comes first. Our Maintenance Technicians provide direct support to tenants by responding to and troubleshooting a variety of residential service requests such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, appliances and building exteriors. They take pride in maintaining public areas and completing apartment turnovers to ensure a comfortable property tenants can call home. Successful Maintenance Technicians have a can-do attitude and build positive tenant relationships by providing top notch customer service. They consistently demonstrate thoroughness, organization, and accuracy in all they do.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete work requests within 24 hours of receipt
  • Ensure all vacant apartments are ready for occupancy
  • Maintain grounds care and housekeeping as needed
  • Report accidents, emergency, or safety concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Snow removal and salting duties.
  • Maintenance of apartments
  • Training and/or onboarding of team as directed
  • Demonstrates and follows the Oakbrook Values
  • All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in residential property maintenance or related
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, construction, carpentry, painting, vendors, parts, and services
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with tenants and others as needed
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Must provide own basic tools needed for the position
  • Physically able to perform job duties with or without accommodation
  • Must have a valid driver's license and able to travel amongst multiple properties
  • Must successfully pass a physical exam, background screen and drug screen
