General Summary:
The Radiology Float Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling radiology appointments across all modalities/locations at The Toledo Clinic. Essential duties include providing excellent customer service and ensuring that all patients are scheduled on a timely basis and accurately within modality guidelines.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
- Schedules testing for all radiology modalities.
- Completes all necessary consent forms with patients either in-person or over the phone.
- Answers calls and welcomes patients courteously and professionally.
- Ensures the complete and accurate documentation of patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR.
- Works as a team player to ensure each patient receives the best possible service.
- Collaborates with physician offices as needed.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Assists with various clerical duties (phones, scanning, faxes)
- Types correspondences, memos and letters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
Previous scheduling experience and mastery of each radiology modality scheduling guidelines.
- Knowledge of insurance and medical terminology.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and patience required.
- Ability to multitask
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Education:
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Medical terminology coursework helpful.
