At AuterionGS, we build the future of drones and autonomous robots for government applications. Our Huntsville, AL-based team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future drone products for DoD use.

As a Flight Test Engineer at Auterion Government solutions, you will work closely with developers and product teams to identify hardware and software issues, and test new features across the Auterion technology stack. You will assist with integration and testing of robotic systems from partner companies, as well as build and maintain internal Flight Test assets. This role also has a customer-facing component, as you will represent Auterion at flight-ops events like training classes and demonstrations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assemble and maintain an internal fleet of test assets, and become an expert on robotic systems from our partner OEMs
  • Assist with end-user training events and demonstrations
  • Electromechanical integration, modification, and prototyping: Mechanical design, 3D printing, soldering, assembly, mounting and wiring of electronic subassemblies
  • Become deeply knowledgeable on Auterion hardware and software, including Skynode, PX4, AuterionOS, Auterion Mission Control, and Auterion Suite

Qualifications and Skills

  • BS in a relevant engineering field (robotics, computer science, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar).
  • Experience working on robotic systems for government and defense use, so that you "know what right looks like" when it comes to user workflows and features
  • Experience designing, building, testing, and tuning drones
  • Solid understanding of electronics and wiring, soldering, and mechanical integration to include 3D printing
  • Working knowledge of PX4, Linux, and computer networking
  • FAA Part 107 Pilot license
  • US Citizen with the ability to hold and maintain a US security clearance

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours & hybrid workplace
  • Stock Options
  • Generous holiday & PTO allowance
  • Health Insurance (includes dental & vision)
  • Medical flex spending
  • Life Insurance
  • Retirement Plan - 401k
  • Enhanced maternity & paternity leave
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Learning and development opportunities
