Flight Nurse Float

  
We’re hiring a Flight Nurse Float to work with our team of air transportation experts to safely transport patients to and from medical facilities as well as scene call work. Safety, effective and efficient patient care is a key pillar of our services, therefore you’ll work on a quality, professional team that is committed to high safety standards for the crew and our customers.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide clinical excellence in patient care during all phases of the transport from initial contact until care is relinquished to appropriate team members of the accepting medical facility
  • Delivery of this practice is accomplished by acquiring and maintaining a strong knowledge base in emergency and critical care practice
  • Acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, and protocols related to the Med-Trans flight program
  • Acquire and maintain the ability to stabilize and manage patients through all phases of flight in air transport from a field emergency response or an inter-hospital transport
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge applicable to sections of the Federal Aviation Administration regulations
  • Actively participate in Pre and Post Flight Briefings with all team members which may include communication specialists
  • Proficient in use of aircraft radios and assisting the pilot and fellow crew members as an active participant in the Air Medical Resource Management process
  • Active participant in public education programs and public relations functions
  • Maintains a readiness to fly culture, ensuring restocking of flight bag and aircraft, clean and operational equipment, timely shift checks and briefings, while always demonstrating a safe approach to all environments

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Committed to being on-time, reliable, professional, and meeting our elevated standards in safety and service

MinimumRequired Qualifications: 

  • Maintains current licensure or certification in at least one state (and any applicable states)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in critical care clinical setting
  • Previous flight experience
  • Current driver’s license; EVOC if operating AMGH Emergency Response Vehicle
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) certifications - BCLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - Provided During Orientation
  • Transport Provider Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) within 1 year of hire date
  • Specialty certification (CFRN) within 6 months of hire date
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills

Preferences: 

  • Instructor certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TPATC)
  • BSN / MSN
  • Prior EMS experience
