Flight Follower

The Air Shuttle is hiring multiple Flight Followers to work out of our Mather, CA office location.

The Flight Dispatcher is responsible for exercising operational control under 14 CFR, Part 125 in a safe and effective manner and in accordance with company requirements. This includes monitoring all company flights from the pre-flight planning to time of departure, until the completion of the flight. The Flight Follower works jointly with the Pilot in Command (PIC) to determine operational suitability of each flight.

Dispatching

• Monitor all company flights during each stage of travel including:  pre-flight planning, time of departure, in-flight, and  completion of the flight
• Demonstrate and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.  
• Prepare and disseminate the flight release to include weather information, flight planning and performance calculations, field conditions, and NOTAMS
• Examines performance factors and determines appropriate flight preparation and review with PIC.
• Ensure all flights are released in compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)
• Confirm/verify all, ground handling, deicing, fuel, landing/departure slots, and landing/over- flight permits are prior to releasing a flight.
• Records crewmembers flight time in compliance with the company’s crew scheduling procedures to ensure that each flight has a legal crew available to complete all flight operations for all flight segments.
• Coordinates with the maintenance department to ensure the aircraft status will permit the intended operation to be conducted safely and in accordance with applicable Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) limitations and/or restrictions at the scheduled departure time.
• Proactive coordination and communication of all irregular operations and flight delay possibilities.
• Mana unexpected changes in a time sensitive and stressful environment. Remains calm and professional in any situation. 
• File the Air Traffic Control (ATC) flight plan prior to departure and monitor ATC delays
• Initiate emergency procedures and notification when necessary
• Promotes safety and a safety-centric operation.

Flight Following

• Proactive coordination and communication of all irregular operations and flight delay possibilities. Create operational efficiency during times of irregularities caused by weather, crewmembers, maintenance, or situations beyond the control of the Company.
• Manages unexpected changes in a time sensitive and stressful environment. Remains calm and professional in any situation.
• Ensure that all, ground handling, deicing, fuel, landing/departure slots, and landing/over- flight permits are confirmed/verified before releasing a flight
• Determines airport suitability, provides risk assessment
• Provides operating data and reports and performs other related duties as requested by the Director of Operations
• Monitor flights, record departure and arrival times, and keep the Flight Following system current
• Coordinates cross functionally with maintenance, customer service, and ramp services during regular and irregular operations.
• Additional Duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in a licensed dispatch role
• Able to work as a part of a team, or independently, in stressful situations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong computer proficiency
• Able to act decisively.
• Safety conscious
• Knowledgeable of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Valid FAA Dispatch Certificate required.

Additional eligibility requirements

• Must be able to pass a Non-DOT pre-employment urine drug screen and random drug and alcohol screenings in accordance

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements

• Authority to work in the United States.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check in compliance with TSA Security Program Standards and 49 CFR 1544.229 and 49 CFR 1544.230.

The salary range for this position is $31.00-$36.00per hour DOE.
