Flexographic Press Operator - 1St Shift

Job purpose

A Flexographic Press Operator repairs, runs and operates a rotary printing press and is in charge of the entire production of printed materials from start to finish. They will perform all make-ready tasks associated with Flexographic Presses such as mounting plates, installing print cylinders, installing/adjusting dies, monitoring and loading ink trays, adjusting inks, adjusting tension and register, as well as load the press with the material.

Duties and responsibilities

• Work Order Comprehension- Completes make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used.
• Operation Monitoring- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly.
• Responsible for completing all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks. Completes all press-side quality checks.
• Operates press to produce product in accordance to customer specifications while maintain quality, waste, and press efficiency.
• Monitoring- Maintains consistent quality during the production run. Critical quality checks including copy, color, and registration, and ink adhesion. Ensure conformance to all other quality checks.
• Responsible for completing all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements.
• Completes press make ready’s in an efficient manner.
• Equipment Maintenance- Complete inspection and routine maintenance on required equipment and identify if further service and/or parts needed.
• Cleans plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricates press as needed.
• Our Printing Press Operators must adhere to all MAXIM facility and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor/manager.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Any other tasks as assigned or required by the Team Lead or Manager.

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, waste factors, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
• Understanding Print Quality and Acceptance.
• Mathematics and their general applications.
• Time Management.
• Minimum of 4+ years of previous Flexographic Operator Experience.
• Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Screen Required.

This position will report to the Production & Scheduling Manager.

Working conditions/travel

This is an onsite production environment position, that requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This position is located at 506 Townsend Avenue, High Point, NC 27263.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
