Flexo Printing Supervisor

JOB IS LOCATED IN SOUTHERN CA, COMPANY PROVIDES A GENEROUS RELOCATION PACKAGE.

Cutting edge flexographic label printing company in southern CA is in expansion mode. Due to client demand, the company is searching to hire a Flexo Printing Supervisor for day shift.
Responsibilities include:

• Direct and manage 6+ production personnel in narrow web flexographic label printing operations.
• Schedule and control work orders, labor, quality and all functions involved in label print production.
• Make sure inks, stock and all materials are available at time of print production.
• Assist press operators with printing issues.
• Coordinate press repairs and regular press maintenance.
• Work with outside vendors.
• Perform repairs/maintenance when necessary.
• Make sure presses are operating at optimal speeds.
• Assist with research and development for new projects; adhesives, inks, substrates and converting equipment.
• Work closely with sales and production departments to ensure client jobs are meeting and/or exceeding expectations in a timely manner.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement practices to solve issues.
• Implement press employee training program.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum 5 years' current or previous experience as a Lead Press Operator on narrow web flexographic presses. Mark Andy experience a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent employee mentoring and teaching abilities.
• Experience interacting with outside vendors and suppliers.
• Good communications skills.
• Able to multi-task several on-going projects in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge/experience with Lean Mfg. or Continuous Improvement Practices.
• Able to build a team-based approach in manufacturing.
• Comfortable on the manufacturing floor.
