Fleet Safety Manager

This is a permanent employee position with Euro Line Transportation Inc. and will report directly to the President of the company. The duties of this position are described below in part and may be amended according to the need(s) of the company. The employee in this position will be responsible for the following and all other duties as may be required.

Job Descriptoion ● Accident reporting

○ Follow up emails to Corporate Safety with all necessary information required per company policy.

○ On site attendance at the scene when applicable.

● Hours of Service

○ Monitor Driver Edits to ELD’s.

○ Monitor all HOS violations.

○ Manage inventory of ELD units and Tablets.

○ Random spot audits of driver’s ELD’s.

○ ELD and system training for drivers and terminal staff.

○ Spot Audit all Drivers using paper logs. These should be audited for the below:

■ Form and Manner

■ HOS Violations

■ Excessive edits

● Safety Violation Disciplinary Write ups

○ Assign follow up training for drivers as needed.

○ Probation follow up and counseling with drivers.

○ Assign driver training as needed through Corporate Safety.

● Truck Safety Checks

○ Weekly on-site inspection of Driver’s credentials and equipment when available for inspection.

○ Determine if drivers/equipment pass or fail based on guidelines given.

○ Submit copies of Truck Check forms to Corporate Safety weekly.

○ Follow up with all OOS truck safety checks and maintenance records requested.

● Driver Fitness

○ Ensure all renewed documentation requested by Corporate Safety is forwarded in a timely manner;

■ CDL’s

■ Medical forms and the certification requests through the DMV (MVR)

■ Insurance

○ Assist in the on-boarding of drivers.

■ Pre applications

■ Drug Testing and follow up of Chain of Custody forms (COC).

■ Assist applicants with Euro Line Transportation Inc. Policies.

■ Final applications

○ Assist in scheduling quarterly random Drug and Alcohol Test.

● Roadside Assistance

○ Assist drivers in break down situations with regards to;

■ Advise drivers of nearby shops or roadside companies for assistance with repairs as needed.

● DOT Roadside Inspection Write Ups

○ Notify Corporate Safety immediately of any Out of Service inspections.

○ Ensure OOS defects have been repaired before driver continues driving.

○ Ensure all mechanical defects have been repaired.

○ Follow up as needed for all repair invoices,

○ Obtain and submit driver’s statements.

○ Submit back up documentation requested.

● Safety Training Assistance

○ Assistance with driver one on one training.

○ Assistance as needed with safety meetings.

● Operations Assistance

○ Assist Operations Department in Safety issues related to the driver’s compliance.

Qualifications for position

● Graduation from High School or GED equivalence.

● Two year college degree (preferred but not required).

● A minimum of three years’ experience in transportation safety preferably in commercial truck safety.

● A good knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

● A working knowledge of the Hours of Service requirements.

● Experience in the operation of ELD’s and log book requirements.

● Knowledge of the Maintenance requirements of the FMCSR’s and experience in conducting driver/vehicle inspections

● Must be physically capable of conducting commercial motor vehicle inspections.

● Must live in the general area of assigned location or within a commutable distance.

● Must be able and willing to travel as needed for assignments.

● It is preferred but not required that the person in this position have a valid CDL.

● Must be efficient in basic Math, Word, Excel, and Gmail.

● Must be capable of writing communications in a manner consistent with legal matters.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
