We are currently seeking a Referee to officiate Flag Football games at Sugarhouse park on Thursday evenings from 6:45pm - 8:15pm (1.5hrs) from 4/11/2024 - 6/27/2024. As a Referee, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the game and ensuring a positive experience for all participants. This position pays $30/day. You will also need to complete two paid training sessions to establish your knowledge of the rules on 4/11 and 4/18.
Duties:
- Officiate Flag Football games, enforcing rules and making fair and unbiased decisions
- Communicate with players and team-captains to provide clarifications on rules or address any concerns
- Manage game flow and maintain control of the field, ensuring a safe and respectful environment
- Make quick and accurate calls on penalties, violations, and other infractions
- Keep track of game time, scores, and other relevant information
- Provide feedback to players and coaches when necessary to promote improvement and understanding of the game
Requirements:
- General knowledge of Flag Football
-18 years or older
- Previous experience in sports coaching or officiating is preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with players, coaches, and spectators
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Conflict management skills to handle disputes or disagreements on the field
Referees are also welcome to join all team activities and parties which occasionally include free food and beverages!
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $30.00 per day
