Job Description: A Fixture Builder is responsible for assembling Fixtures. They are accountable for the accuracy, quality, and correctness of the final product.

Reporting to: General Manager – Select Tool USA Inc.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of fixtures and gauges
• Set up and operate a variety of tools to shape work piece to prescribed finish
• Apply all required stamping and identification of components.
• Measure accuracy of pins & details prior to assembly via measurement tools.
• Test overall fixture functionality including motions, mechanisms, clamps and clamp pressure, pin/bushing fits, ergonomics, safety, and other items as applicable.
• Try parts (if available) on fixtures to assure no interferences are present, datum scheme is functioning, and all clamping/restraining devices are working and tuned.
• Execute the following activities prior to assembly as required (Oxide outsourcing, Anodizing or other coatings outsourcing, Hardening internally or outsourced, Painting).
• Assure all work and procedures conform to Select Tool’s ISO documentation and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Fixture and general manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints & GD&T.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances during machining and assembly.
• General machinist capabilities (Bridgeport, grinder, lathe).

Education:

• Minimum High School diploma.
• Technical School Graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
