INSTRUMENTATION Technician Information
JOB SUMMARY: The candidate considered for the position of INSTRUMENTATIONTechnician will provide Fixed & Portable Gas Detection Instrumentation service to the Ritz Safety, LLC.- Mobile, Alabama District (Alabama, Florida Panhandle, Mississippi, and Louisiana).
-The work for this position would include but not limited to installation and/or repairs for portable and fixed atmosphere instrumentation associated with industrial gas detection.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Successfully complete certification training from multiple manufacturers of gas detection instrumentation, including the use of specific tools and test equipment.
- Demonstrate competency in the general understanding and usage of technical manuals, drawings, and processes.
- Demonstrate competency in the selection and usage of standard hand and power tools associated with the service and repair.
- Conduct evaluations and root cause analysis of returned products to determine corrective actions and appropriate parts needed for repairs.
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with safety of personnel and equipment on a regular basis.
- Demonstrate Job Safety Analysis while performing daily tasks within the general and mobile Service Center.
- Effectively communicate with other team members and supervisory personnel on repair projects and potential issues.
- Effectively communicate, coordinate, and process part orders required for repairs or inventory.
- Ability to maintain and control effective inventory management on a daily basis.
- Safe Operation of the Mobile Instrumentation Service Center when required for on site projects.
- Coordinate organized instrumentation rental and repair projects during company shutdowns.
- Travel to remote industrial sites to perform monthly calibration procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum six (6) months of experience with electrical, instrumentation, or small engines in a private, public, government or military environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical classes or specific training associated with E & I discipline.
- Previous certification(s) associated with the manufacturers of atmosphere gas detection.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and air supplied tools
- Perform Bump Test (Functional) and Calibration Process of Instrumentation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
