The Custodian helps maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and general safety of the facility, including the restrooms . The Custodian works with minimum supervision to ensure assigned areas are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing various tasks using the necessary equipment and supplies. This position will work as part of a team as well as independently and candidates must be available to work overtime.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of custodial/janitorial experience that includes knowledge of basic cleaning supplies and equipment. Candidates must have the physical ability to perform all aspects of this job (lifting, standing, bending, etc.), must be reliable and trustworthy, and must pay attention to detail and take pride in their work.
Responsibilities
- Cleans all assigned areas daily
- Helps to keep the Body Shop, Quick Lane, Detailing department and public areas clean and disinfected
- Keeps the building and property in clean and orderly condition and free from trash
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms/breakrooms using established practices and procedures
- Cleans hard surface floors and vacuums carpeted areas as scheduled or needed
- Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies
- Keeps track of inventory and stocks supplies as needed
- Reports equipment malfunctions, injuries, and accidents to the supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year of relevant custodial experience
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning, hard floor care, carpet care, upholstery cleaning, and window washing
- Basic computer and internet skills
- Safety and customer service oriented
- CA Driver License preferred
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Able to follow spoken and written instructions
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
