Georgia-Pacific LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Asset (Mechanical Integrity) Reliability Leader to enhance the maintenance and operations at our Wauna, Oregon facility. This role reports to the mill Reliability Leader of Georgia-Pacific. The candidate will be responsible for administration of the Fixed Equipment (Mechanical Integrity) program to ensure that the facility complies with all company requirements and recommendations; regulatory requirements; and relevant codes, standards, guidelines and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) from industrial and professional organizations.

The mill is located in a picturesque and uncrowded setting and is surrounded by the Clatsop Forest. Its central location provides numerous opportunities for both outdoor recreation and city living. Portland, Oregon is only an hour's drive away with access to fine food, entertainment centers and many other major urban centers. The Pacific Ocean can be reached in under thirty minutes. Many outdoor activities are available near the mill including fishing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and boating. And for the adventurer, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Hood and Mt. Ranier provides climbing opportunities and are home to several world class ski resorts.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and maintain site fixed equipment (mechanical integrity) program including the decision rights for metallurgical content and fixed equipment repairs
  • Manage fixed equipment deficiencies (temporary repairs) including administrative controls to ensure equipment deficiencies do not lead to serious incidents
  • Assist mill teams in identifying and applying the correct Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP)
  • Maintain fixed equipment inspection and repair documentation along with additional records to enable consistent performance of mechanical integrity activities
  • Provides fixed equipment technical content / engineering support to mill teams (troubleshooting, problem solving, cost estimating and implementation of mechanical design solutions)
  • Active engagement in mill Covered Process System management including development and training
  • Participate and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts to identify root causes of fixed equipment complex and/or repetitive problems and put in place executable corrective actions
  • Develop, implement, and support fixed equipment preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment (vibration analysis, lubrication program, oil analysis, ultrasonic, infrared, NDT, thermography, MCE testing, and precision maintenance)
  • Active participation in design and implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and fixed equipment uptime

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering discipline (civil, chemical, or mechanical) or combination of equivalent work experience and training
  • Chemical and/or metallurgical background preferred
  • NBIC Certification
  • Maintenance reliability experience in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, oil & energy, or military environment
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes, standards, guidelines, and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Pulp and Paper industry experience
  • Chemical and/or metallurgical background preferred
  • Certified Authorized Inspector (NBIC) ASME BPVC
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Asset Suite, SAP)
  • Familiarity with Asset Mechanical Integrity Databases (DMAPS, Two Rivers, VisualAIM)
  • Knowledge of Fixed Asset damage mechanisms common to the pulp and paper industry
