JOB SUMMARY
An Aluminum/Steel Fitter-Welder must be able to fit/weld every item in AGSE’s production, with minimal guidance from the shop lead, as well as performing each of the following duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Check material for type and size.
2. Find parts for a specific job number and AM number.
3. Hold the required dimensions dictated by the blueprint and work order router.
4. Solve problems
5. Fit check pre-fabed parts and assemblies.
6. Adhere to the ISO 9000 requirements.
7. Prep parts to be welded.
8. Use drill press, ironworker and all other hand tools as needed.
9. Be readily available to perform other duties assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ability to read complex blueprints
2. Able to do intricate layout
3. Ability to weld in all positions
4. Good fab skills.
5. Good math skills
6. Have an understanding of jig and fixture making.
7. Able to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely
PHYSICALS REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly standing for long periods of time with frequent stooping and bending. Employees are occasionally required to climb ladders, sit, and kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment must be worn while performing the duties of this job. Employee must possess the ability to use hand torch and grinders. A Minimum lifting ability of 20 lbs. required, up to a maximum lifting of 50 lbs. this includes moving items.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employees frequently work near moving equipment, loud and prolonged noise. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high. In certain assignments, an employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, biological hazards, airborne fumes and particles, wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

Please note that it is not typical for AGSE employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role - especially as a new hire - and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $ 20.00- $35.00 per hour.
