As a service-oriented organization, we never waver in our commitment to our Corps. This position is located at Marine Corps Community Services, Henderson Hall, Arlington VA. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a HITT Program Coordinator.

Major Duties Serves as the High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) Program Coordinator to provide the HITT Program Components to active duty and reservist service members aboard the base. Enhances force readiness by providing proper education and training on functional fitness, injury prevention, nutrition, proper execution of prescribed exercises and other related subjects for combat fitness. Formulates, organizes, prioritizes, and implements a structured curriculum that educates, provides a sense of achievement, aids in physical and mental health, and promotes performance to ensure the success of HITT and related combat fitness training programs.

Plans, develops, evaluates, and refines course materials and exercise methods and techniques to educate service members on proper fitness, nutrition, injury prevention, and proper execution of physical training that impacts readiness. Conducts program evaluations, consolidates data, provides reports, and tracks trends to assess and improve program effectiveness. Maintains ongoing training and education to stay abreast of the most current subject matter information, tools, and practices in the field of exercise science.

Serves as the supervisor for the HITT Program and ongoing combat fitness programming to coordinate, implement, evaluate, ad review all aspects of effective delivery of combat fitness programs. Consults with commanders to design and conduct combat conditioning and fitness improvement programs. Coordinates with Military Professional Schools and training institutions to ensure effective delivery of curriculum on sound, evidence-based exercise principles.

May work a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. May travel to complete work assignments and conduct or attend conferences and meetings. Qualifications A bachelors degree in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences, exercise physiology, kinesiology, or other related curricula focused on fitness assessment, or physiological adaptation to exercise and exercise program design.

Skill to serve as the HITT Program Coordinator to provide professional interactive instruction and education assistance to active duty and reserve service members aboard the base. Ability to instruct, demonstrate and perform the same physical training required of Marines. Skill to deal effectively with various contacts such as EPME Course Coordinators (where applicable), military members at various levels of authority and members of military institutions.

Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator certifications. Current strength and conditioning certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or must receive within 6 months of employment. Current Sports Performance Level 1 or Club Level 1 Coach Certification from the United States Weightlifting Association (USAW) or equivalent certification along with certificate of completion or certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Associations TSAC Department.

Knowledge of an/or membership in an accredited association such as: American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association and other accredited associations to stay abreast of current practices and theories, network with SMEs and enhance the effectiveness and credibility of military programming. Skill to plan, develop, evaluate, and refine course materials, methods, and techniques, and assess and improve program effectiveness. Knowledge and experience in administration of performance assessments and fitness assessments., exercise prescriptions, conducting progressive individual strength and conditioning programs, and proper exercise techniques sufficient to conduct comprehensive combat fitness programs.

Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 60 lbs independently and objects over 60 lbs with assistance. A valid Drivers License: incumbent would be expected to provide training to Service Members within the National Capital Area.
