PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
At Aecon-Wachs we are always looking for exceptional talent to join our team and work on our growing project portfolios. We are actively recruiting for Fire Watch/Helpers to support our various project sites across the US.
Fire Watch/Helpers work tasks include general site preparation and cleanup, setting up and removing access equipment and organizing job boxes. Individuals also responsible for fire watch, monitor people performing hot work, such as using torches to cut or weld to ensure a fire isn’t started. They must be familiar with their worksites procedures in the event of a fire including sounding an alarm, notifying emergency services and being trained and capable of using fire extinguisher equipment.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment
- Follows all safety and quality program expectations
- Loads and unloads equipment and materials
- Uses hand and power tools and heavy machinery
- Reads and follows construction field work packages
- Adheres to all applicable company and client policies and procedure
- Adheres to all applicable laws regulations and guidelines
- High school diploma or equivalent experience is required
- Follows written and verbal instructions
- Works well at heights and in confined spaces
- Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills
- Learns quickly and has strong math, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Must be comfortable working in Radiological Work Areas (Nuclear work only)
- Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending and lifting at least 50 pounds
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to be hold and maintain a Security Clearance at US Nuclear facility(Nuclear work only)
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
