We are seeking a Firewall Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Arlington, VA. This individual will possess an expert understanding of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Firewalls. A strong understanding of network communication and able configuring network devices, CIsco and Juniper solutions is required. F5 and scripting experience is desired.
This role requires someone with strong and proven technical acumen. It requires someone with the ability to work and communicate in a team environment and deal with complex technologies and concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Able to troubleshoot complex networks with security devices within the path.
- Work with a team of engineers in support of a large complex network and work to proactively design a solutions that run efficiently and are manageable.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification of at least 5-8 years of experience with multivendor IP based networks.
- Cisco Network Device Configuration Experience
- Expert understanding of all layers of the OSI model
- Good understanding of packet capture review.
- Strong understanding of TCP / UDP and IP Protocol
- Load Balancing background utilizing F5 is preferred
- Extensive experience with, but not limited to, the following vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, MS Sharepoint
- Ability to multi-task and communicate complicated technical issues across and upwards within management hierarchy.
- PCNSE or equivalent level certifications strongly desired
- Detailed technical documentation/network diagram creation experience and writing skills.
