Form of workLSS Life Safety Services is an industry leader in passive fire protection inspection services such as Fire and Smoke Damper Inspections, Fire Door Inspections, Firestopping, and building commissioning services to facilities throughout the United States. LSS seeks an individual experienced in construction, caulking, drywalling and firestop installation for its Firestop Technician position. LSS' testing helps clients meet compliance standards set by The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Code Council, The Joint Commission, State Fire Marshals, Insurance Risk Auditors and other regulatory agencies which require the periodic inspection of passive fire protection systems.
Role and Responsibilities of Firestop Technician
- Inspection of firewalls per NFPA code
- Install and repair firestop material in existing facilities and new construction projects per NFPA code
- Providing accurate documentation for customers code compliance
- Maintain professional and regular communication with customers
- Attend Job Training Activities
Requirements
- Experience in carpentry, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus
- Experience in fire stopping methodology helpful
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to interpret life safety drawings
- Experience in customer service and working with the public
- Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently and efficiently
- Good record keeping and tracking of facilities inspections
- Professional appearance
- Knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel and Email)
- Travel Required - 10 days gone, 4 days home.
