Form of workBack to all Jobs Firefighter/MedicRecruit W/ existing Paramedic Certification Closes On: December 15, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST Location: Caroline County, Bowling Green, VA 22427 Department: Fire & Rescue Job Status: Full-Time Rate of Pay: $52,865.00 Base - $55,749.00 Post Academy Status: Accepting Applications Apply Now Job Responsibilities Responds to fire & rescue calls to perform a full range of fire suppression duties, as well as basic and advanced life support emergency care Knowledge, Skills and Abilities FF/Medic W/ existing EMT-Paramedic Certs. - High School Diploma Basic Cardiac Life Support (Health Care Provider CPR) Virginia Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate or Paramedic ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 Must maintain certification in ACLS, PALS ad PHTLS Must meet the medical requirements set forth in NFPA 1582, Chapter 6: Medical Evaluations of Applicants Effective communication skills Possess strong critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills Ability to complete reports and records accurately Ability and desire to attend training and acquire new skills Safety awareness Physical Requirements Work is typically in both office and field settings May be subject to extreme cold and heat, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, oils, exposure to blood borne pathogens and wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus Requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 40lbs. and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 125lbs.
