Status: Accepting Applications Apply Now Job Advertisement The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for the position of firefighter/EMT. Applications will be used to fill vacant positions and to establish an eligibility list for future reference.
The range for this position is $44,466.24 - $63,394.24 annually ($15.27 - $21.77/hourly) plus City benefit package, including single/family health insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and KP&F retirement program. (The annual salary range is based on a 2,912 hour billable salary) Position responds to alarms and emergency medical calls to protect life and property, trains on and operates firefighting and emergency response equipment and participates in fire prevention programs. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a high school degree or equivalency, valid state driver's license with a good driving record, and Kansas or National Registry EMT certification.
NFPA Firefighter I, II and Hazmat operations certifications preferred. Previous experience and bilingual skills preferred but not required. Applicants must be able to perform heavy physical work, including lifting up to 75 lbs., and be able to perform a variety of movements.
Required testing for qualified applicants will include physical agility, written testing and an oral board.
