Qualifications: GS-05:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing first aid procedures and CPR; 2) Performing firefighting duties which demonstrate knowledge of equipment and firefighting techniques; 3) Performing various developemental assignments under direct supervision successfully; 4) Demonstrating basic knowledge of firefighting equipment (fire alarm system operations, fire extinguishing equipment operations, etc.); and 5) Assisting with the control of HAZMAT incidents while implimenting training in fire protection and prevention.
Required Certifications: Firefighter I, HAZMAT - Awareness, and EMS First Responder.
GS-04:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a volunteer or member of a fire department or brigade; 2) Assisting with rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Operating fire communications equipment; and 5) Assisting with the control of HAZMAT incidents while implimenting training in fire protection and prevention.
Required Certifications to obtain: Firefighter I and HAZMAT - Awareness.
