Job Description
Fire Safety First services water-based fire protection systems, including but not limited to automatic Fire Sprinkler systems, standpipe fire hose systems, private fire hydrants, and fire pumps. The Fire Sprinkler Inspector Trainee assists the senior technicians' team in inspecting, testing, and maintaining these systems throughout Southern California. The position has opportunities for training and career growth within the fire protection trades, including cross-training for other fire protection services. As with all service positions, the Trainee is expected to reflect the company's goal "to serve our customers with outstanding professionalism."
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures customers are serviced to the highest level of satisfaction through quality service and met expectations prior to leaving the jobsite
- Performs inspections, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems
- Performs troubleshooting, service, and repairs of sprinkler systems
- Completes and produces reports (as needed) that are legible, accurate, and detailed; completes work orders and other documents accurately and on time
- Displays a mechanical aptitude, effectively uses hand tools
- Interacts professionally with customers, building engineers, property managers, and acts as an efficient team member within the department
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills to receive and convey information clearly and effectively at all levels of the FSF organization
- Helps to identify continuous improvement solutions to promote efficiency
- Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices, specifically CAL OSHA and safety measures related to work
- Performs other duties as assigned
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work
- Capable of performing physical labor, lift and carry equipment and tools up to 50-75 lbs
- Capable of walking, climbing, and moderate physical activity
- Clean driving record (will travel 80% of the time)
- May need to work overtime based on job situation
Education
- High School Diploma
- AA Degree or Higher, preferred
Pay Range: $23.00 to $25.00 an hour
Job Type: Full Time, Consistent 40 Hours per week
