Fire Sprinkler Inspectorsperform inspections, testing, and maintenance on Fire Sprinkler systems and other water-based systems in accordance with all national and local standards. They also supply hands-on training and coaching to entry-level Inspectors.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to entry level fire alarm inspectors, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team.Why is this so important?Our Fire Sprinkler Inspectors are crucial to a company's fire safety strategy, contributing to the protection of life, property, and business operations. Their role ensures compliance, mitigates risks, and provides peace of mind to all building owners. As aFire Sprinkler Inspector, you will: Provide inspection, testing, and service for wet, dry, pre-action and deluge Fire Sprinkler systems; backflow preventors; water tanks; fire hydrants; foam-based systems; water mist systems; and fire pumps per NFPA 25 standards Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations.
Discuss noted deficiencies, remedies, and pricing with customers and follow up on corrective actions Follow and maintain highly structured inspection schedules performing service and deficiency repairs on all Fire Sprinkler system types as needed. Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed and complete service ticket documentation and inspection reports before leaving customer site. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to required city municipality websites Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections; assist with training Provide subject matter expertise to peers You will make an impact with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Technician endorsement for automatic sprinkler system maintenance inspection (State of Iowa Department of Public Safety Fire Sprinkler license) NICET I in inspection and testing of water-based systems or water-based layout The majority of the customers are located in the Des Moines area, however, you must be willing to travel to additional cities within Iowa and Nebraska Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma, state-recognized GED, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree preferred NICET II+ inspection and testing of water-based systems or water-based layout You'llbenefitfrom: Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
