Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Fire Sprinkler Foreman is responsible for the installation for the coordination and installation of a Fire Sprinkler system. Every position is responsible for safety, prevention of waste, continual improvement, and the following company procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for reading Fire Sprinkler blueprints, for installation of Fire Sprinkler systems, including start up through final testing.
• Responsible for following verbal and written instructions from superintendent, project manager.
• Responsible for maintaining a clear and safe work area.
• Responsible, under the direction of the Field Superintendent, for supervising sprinkler crew, and for ensuring that crew adheres to all workplace policies, and that work is completed according to established timelines.
• Will provide informal assessment of performance for crew, as requested by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Effectively manage fitters or apprentices assigned to crew
• Communicate instructions clearly to other workers
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Ability to read blueprints and install the appropriate materials accordingly
• Specialized knowledge of Fire Sprinkler heads, system testing
• Strength to carry equipment, tools or pipe weighing up to 50 pounds, and to lift 50 pounds of weight above your head
• Must be physically capable of performing work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet or more.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders and operate machinery.
• Favorably pass a criminal background check, DMV driving record check and pass a drug screen test.
• Must be capable of completing and submitting time reports and other documents as required.
• Ability to operate the a rigid 300, Porta-band, small electrical tools.
