Job Summary: The 669 Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice assists in the assembly, installation, and repair of Fire Sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable codes. This position is also responsible for delivering high quality work and productivity. Apprentices are required to join the 669 Union, complete on-the-job-training, and courses to develop into a journeyman sprinkler fitter.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Apprentices will complete on the job training by working with a journeyman sprinkler fitter installing Fire Sprinkler systems.

· Successfully completing the necessary courses to obtain journeyman status as directed by JATC.

· Respects the confidentiality of the company, customers, and personnel information.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Competent, responsible, organized and team oriented.

· Strong Communication.

· Strong basic math skills.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· Ability to follow instructions.

· Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

· Works with various types of piping including steel, copper and CPVC.

· Operates powered equipment including hand tools, stationary machines, and others.

· Makes decisions and solves problems analyzing information and evaluating results.

· Maintains a high-quality initiative while completing assigned duties.

· Ability to drive a motor vehicle and maintain a current driver's license to commute to the various current or prospective job sites in the area.

· Attends required Fire Sprinkler related classes if not previously completed.

Education/Experience:

· A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to be off the ground in a lift or other piece of equipment.

· Must have the ability to independently lift and carry objects safely that weigh up to 25 pounds routinely and 75 pounds occasionally.

Pay: $20.67 - $24.89 per hour
