Until FilledThe East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is a public Career and Technical Education District (CTED) providing tuition-free career and technical education (CTE) programs to high school students - public, charter, and home-schooled - and tuition-based programs to adults who reside in 11 school districts in the East Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area.
EVIT offers over 40 CTE programs at four centralized campuses. Centralized campus programs provide two to four hours of hands-on training every day and prepare students for professional certification and licensing exams. EVIT students who complete their training have a 98 percent high school graduation rate and 90 percent on average are in jobs related to their training, college or the military within a year. Two out of three EVIT students go on to college.
Applications are being accepted for the position of Fire Science Teacher with the East Valley Institute of Technology. The beginning salary range is approximately $48,545- $52,000 dependent upon education and like experience. This is a full-time, 10 month position.
Job Summary:
To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional Career and Technical Education (CTE) program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their educational potential. This includes facilitation of all state and district requirements for CTE programs - such as designing and facilitating a program to meet all prescribed standards, inclusion of industry participation and advisory boards, and embedding work based learning, Career and Technical Students Organizations (CTSO's), and hands on instruction throughout the program.
Qualifications:
Arizona, IFSAC or Pro Board certification as Firefighter I & II
Fire Instructor I
Certified NREMT and/or Paramedic
Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Arizona Department of Education Career and Technical Education certificate in Industrial and Emerging Technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fire Instructor 2
EMT/Paramedic Instructor
10 or more years working in a municipal or city fire department.
Documentation working on an ambulance as an EMT or Paramedic
