Responsibilities
This position is for an Engineering Technician in the Utilities Division, Plant Protection Emergency Service group. This position provides technician level support plant-wide at the Kingsport site and limited support at other Eastman sites for electronic and electrical fire protection systems. The technician works with maintenance, operations staff, management, and engineering on a daily basis. Managing and providing support for fire protection systems, manufacturing control system interface, and other database related fire protection control systems. The technician will install, configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test a wide variety of complex electronic fire protection equipment. The technician also works with outside contract vendors, designers and/or company engineers and is responsible for managing system hardware, software and upgrade needs.

- Experienced in troubleshooting and repair of industrial instrumentation, electrical/electronic equipment, and Keltron, Simplex, Siemens/ Pyrotronics fire alarm systems.

- Maintain a good working relationship with customers.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Experiences in troubleshooting and repair of fire alarm system equipment is desirable.
- Able to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: An Associate degree in an electronics related curriculum or its equivalent (from an accredited program) or Eastman Technician Qualified (See Technician Manual Section V). Also must have passed NICET Level 1 and Level 2 exams or higher in Fire Alarm System Certifications with 3+ years experience.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: NICET certification and valid state motor vehicle driver's license. Must be technician qualified.
