Upstate New York's #1 Truck Equipment Specialists T&T Body King, a 3rd generation family business since 1960, is rapidly expanding our facilities and services and is creating jobs! One or Two full-time emergency vehicle lighting installers at at our manufacturing facility in Latham, NY.
Pay for this position can vary depending on your experience and ability to learn new skills. We can discuss at your first interview. If you have previous lighting installation experience we want to hear from you.
Primary responsibilities are installing, testing, repairing light bars, flashers, sirens, radios, speakers, antennas and installing utility bodies, toolboxes and accessories on fire chief Tahoe’s, utility vehicles and pickup trucks.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Install equipment into emergency and Fire vehicles
- Remove and reinstall OEM vehicle interior trim
- Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment
- Develop wiring routes throughout the vehicle for the most efficient wiring path and enable future replacement and/or troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment as necessary
- Maintain safe, clean work area
- Continuous learning in new products, skills techniques from colleagues and manufacturers
- Assist with parts, shipping, receiving and inventory as needed
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation
- Other duties as needed or required
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: automotive wiring or related experience in a fast-paced shop preferred
- Company willing to train entry level candidates with wiring experience and owns their own tools / box
- Preferred: Experience installing into law enforcement vehicles or emergency related vehicles
Working Conditions
- Primary work inside a shop environment - Outside to move vehicles
- Occasional local travel for local pickups and deliveries .
- Lifting objects up to 40 lbs.
- Some overtime or weekend hours may be available
