Fire Extinguisher Technician Needed (South Austin) - Licensed or Apprentice

Here is your chance to get your foot in the door in the Fire Safety industry.

Longhorn Fire and Safety is now accepting applications for Fire Extinguisher Technician Apprentices or Licensed Fire Extinguisher Technicians.

Duties include inspection, repair and recharge of extinguishers in our shop. May also include installation, inspection, and repairs of extinguishers in commercial and residential settings. On the job training provided. This is NOT a sales position.

Benefits of working for our company:
* We pay Apprentices $18/hr with on the job training. Once you are licensed, then;
* We pay $20/hour after passing Texas Department of Insurance required licensing testing and are able to work independently.

* Licensed Technician starting pay is commensurate with experience.

* Yearly and merit raises depending on performance.

* Licensed technicians will have the option to join the company offered health care insurance plan after 90 days of obtaining FEL-B license as an apprentice, or 90 days of employment for direct hire Licensed Technicians.
* We give the following paid holidays off - Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day and July 4th if it falls on a Monday-Friday, and is a regularly scheduled work day for the employee.

Job Requirements - Education, training, experience:

* We are seeking a candidate who wants a FULL TIME, stable job with a growing company.
* Either has, or is able to obtain Fire Extinguisher license - FEL (Class B).
* Self motivator with little direct supervision required; works with a sense of urgency.
* Conduct inspections for new and established customers in a timely manner while maintaining high standard of quality work.
* Able to obtain knowledge of all Fire Extinguishers
* Ability to complete and identify code issues and solutions.
* Able to obtain knowledge and ability to survey equipment and complete paperwork.
* Perform work in an efficient and organized matter.
* Maintain accurate and precise documentation daily.
* Clear, legible handwriting a must.
* Display professional appearance.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Professional communication with customers and ability to provide excellent customer service.
* Motivated to achieve a high standard of productivity.
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Must have basic math skills.
* Valid and clean driver's license required.
* Must pass a drug screen and background check - this is a state licensed position, so your background will be thoroughly checked.
* Must have references

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
