Job Description
This position will serve as a Fire AlarmP.E. Licensed Engineer with demonstrated subject matter expertise with industrial Fire alarms and detection, Emergency Communications, Public Address, or Mass Notification requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical direction, guidance and demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of the Fire Detection and Alarm System designs and Emergency Communications designs.
• Develop and implement effective fire detection designs for compliance with fire codes, standards, and regulations.
• Develop and implement effective Emergency Communications designs for compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
• Apply working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association Codes, IBC, ISA, and IEEE regulatory requirements to site facilities.
Basic Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• 15+ years of cumulative relevant experience.
• Must possess a Professional Engineer license/registration.
• NICET Level II (or higher) certification in the applicable subfield.
• Availability to work fully local in Fluor's Greenville, SC office.
• Degree in Fire Detection, Electrical or Audio Engineering, or a related Engineering field (Associates or BS) a plus, and may offset some required years of experience.
• Experience in use of AlarmCad or similar application for Fire Alarm Design
• Experience with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), IBC, ISA, and IEEE codes and standards.
• Experience in 2D MicroStation or AutoCAD drawing, S3D Modeling, or Revit Modeling for preparing detailed design deliverables and design packages
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of:
• Specifying instrumentation
• Control systems procurement activities
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID); can recognize/report problems associated with control systems representation on P&ID
• Developing control strategies and represent on P&ID
