Job Title: Fire Alarm Engineer/Inspector

Specializing in the design of new, replacement, and modifications of Fire Alarm systems, F&BCS is renowned for its licensed engineers who provide comprehensive services, including code consulting and peer reviews, inspection and certification. Our mission is to ensure our clients' compliance with the New York City Building and Fire Codes, offering expertise that facilitates smooth inspections and approvals from FDNY.

Job Description: F&BCS is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer/Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and reviewing Fire Alarm systems, conducting pre-inspections, creating detailed punch lists, and attending FDNY inspections to facilitate a seamless approval process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of Fire Alarm Systems
  • Perform pre-inspections and create punch lists of identified deficiencies of various types of Fire Alarm systems before FDNY inspection.
  • Attend FDNY inspections and address any concerns raised by inspector.
  • Participate in client meetings to coordinate inspections and requirements related to Fire Alarm systems.
  • Provide support and backup to co-workers.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of the 2022 Building Code.
  • Experience in designing and engineering Fire Alarm systems (Beneficial).
  • Proficiency in ACAD; ability to prepare plans using ACAD (Beneficial).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the job.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer skills.
  • Team player.
