What We're Looking For

The role of Fintech Credit Director will be tasked with conducting thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, change requests, monthly portfolio monitoring and reporting, monthly and annual periodic reviews to determine credit worthiness. Credit assessments to include Cards, Banking-as-a- service (BaaS), third-party service provider, third-party sender (TPSP, TPS) merchant acquiring (ISOs, PFs), marketplace lending (MPL), Periodic Reviews.

Responsibilities:

  • Spreading financial statements through the use of computerized financial software program and analyze reports produced by the system for preparation of written reviews.
  • Perform credit and financial analysis on new counterparties and existing relationships, primarily early-stage fintech companies evaluating the strength of guarantors, industry analysis, collateral, and loan structures with recommendations as to credit worthiness and recommended reserve requirements of applicants.
  • Complete a thorough, in-depth analysis of new credit requests, credit limit change requests, renewals.
  • Assess counterparty liquidity risk and recommend program requirements to manage this risk.
  • Perform ongoing Periodic Reviews for third party partners such as completing Annual Financial Updates and Loan Management Reports on existing borrowers or counterparties.
  • Monitor and control tracking/reporting for the bank's payment and marketplace lending programs.
  • Analyze loans highlighting any problems or questions and writing the final credit analysis.
  • Reconcile credit files and identify discrepancies and variances.
  • Develop and prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of new and existing credit applications.
  • Assess and track payments customers as part of the onboarding payments committee process flow.
  • Other duties as the needs arise.

Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of strong quantitative experience, preferably in banking, cards or payments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Other degrees will be considered based on prior experience. Formal credit training Is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Spreading software, modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to articulate financial write ups in a clear concise manner.
  • Impeccable understanding of financial statements, ratios, and financial concepts.
  • Understanding of payment risk and risk exposure is a plus.
  • Work and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally.

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $195,000.00
