Job description
The Onsite Chemical Engineer will be responsible the entire process, props, service equipment and peripheral finishing equipment as well as the implementation of production for electrolytic and non-electrolytic finishing operations in manual and/or automatic modes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train process operators in the use of systems including plating & painting, computational controllers as well as Maintenance of processes and everything related to the production of products within specification
- Development and authoring of documentation in compliance with SSW QMS (Referenced: ISO/TS, VDA or any other applicable) supporting all chemical processes including plating, painting, water treatment, laboratory and re-working operations.
- Development and implementation of programs and work instructions for chemical analysis, chemical maintenance, start-up, shutdown and routine operations.
- Development and implementation of the maintenance plan for the hardware systems such as anodic recovery, filtration, optimization of the water treatment interface and general maintenance coordination with the Engineering Services/Maintenance departments.
- Maintain processes/systems of records, files, and supporting documentation.
- Other related and/or analogous.
- Follow the EHS and Quality Procedures that apply to you.
- Know and apply the EHS Policy and the Quality Policy.
- Participate in meetings and trainings as assigned.
- Perform any other activity that his/her position warrants or that is assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Technical Career / Technical Professional-4-year technical degree required (ideally chemical, chemistry, similar) or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finishing areas or; Preferential in RO, DI and Water Treatment. Preferential in Powder Paint and/or Ecoat. Preferential in Zn and/or Ni plating.
- Strong understanding of Chemical Engineering principles, including thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and transport phenomena.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP preferably, ERP, Outlook, Truechem preferably
- Excellent skills team work and agility to Learn.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
- Availability to travel between regions as needed.
