Job description

Alkemē at Open Kitchen is an innovative Culture-to-Table restaurant that opened in June 2023 in the heart of Santa Fe https://alkeme-santafe.com/. For over a decade, Open Kitchen has created and curated original, unforgettable gatherings that celebrate joyful human connections. Our new restaurant brings to Santa Fe a unique Fine dining restaurant with an Asian heritage cuisine reimagined menu.

Chef-Owner Hue-Chan Karels and Executive Chef Erica Tai are reinterpreting heirloom recipes from their culinary roots of Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, and Hawaii's Pacific Rim in a modern context, combining traditional and contemporary techniques to create exciting layers of flavors and diverse textures. Alkemē’s curated full liquor beverage menu harmonizes with the flavor profiles of our dishes, from eclectic wine and beer to creative craft cocktails and mocktails to heighten the overall dining experience of our guests. Responsibilities:
-Provide exceptional dining experience to guests.

-Help design and maintain a distinguishing beverage program to maintain competitive and leading edge.

-Prepare cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes; facilitate wine/beer/sake service for servers and server assistants; serve beverages and food to guests.

-Batch juices, syrups, and tinctures, and prepare garnishes according to recipes.

-Strict adherence to state and federal liquor regulations.

-Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized bar.

-Responsible to maintain a clean and organized front of house area.

Requirements:
-Minimum of 21 years old to mix/serve alcohol.

-Minimum two (2) years of bar or restaurant experience to include drink preparation.

-Minimum of 1 year experience in a Chef driven and Fine dining restaurant bar.

-Knowledge wine, beer, and sake is ideal.

-Strong understanding of alcohol and food safety laws and regulations. Possess current New Mexico approved Food handler’s card and alcohol server’s permit.

-Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol.

-Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments.

-Hands-on proficiency with point-of-sale (POS)- Toast POS system is a plus.

-Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails.

-Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings.

-Can seamlessly multitask behind a bar and handle service bar, bar guests, and tables at the same time.

-Able to follow recipes as well as creative and interested in working collaboratively on a cocktail menu.

-Critical thinker and problem-solving skills; has ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently and proactively.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests, management, and team members.

-Truly enjoy making people happy by serving them drinks and food.

-Strong organizational and strong time management skills.

-Good physical condition to stand, walk, bend, etc. for the entire shift of between 6 to hours, and lift up to 25 lbs.

-Schedule flexibility - Ability to work all shifts.

-Prides him/herself on his/her ability to work well in a team.

-Works cleanly and is well organized.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
