In the 2023-24 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region is comprised of four schools educating almost 3,000 students, kindergarten through eleventh grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida:
  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 3rd grade, 6th - 8th grade
  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 11th grade

Job Description
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to add capacity to our electives department team with another Fine Arts instructor. This teacher would instruct classes of 9th - 12th graders. As the school grows, the teacher might take on more sections. Options for the courses offered (based on student interest and teacher certification) are Art, Drama, Dance and Music.
We are committed to providing a quality electives department that will complement our rigorous academic program. This position will work closely with the electives department which currently offers band, physical education/health, art, and other enrichment classes. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification
    • Art K-12
    • Drama 6-12
    • Dance K-12
    • Music K-12
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ESOL Endorsement
  • Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
  • Experience with teaching honors level or AP level courses in a High School
