Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Financial Transformation Director to join our Finance Ops & Accounting team.

About the role

The Director, Financial Systems leads a team focused on building Oscar's financial systems, analyzing existing processes, creating new processes for scale, and managing multiple projects simultaneously to support Oscar's fast growing business.

You will report to the VP, Finance Transformation.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office ( in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Ave), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $174,400 - $228,900 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $156,960 - $206,010 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing team of finance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
  • Evolve and manage a strategic roadmap for finance transformation aligned with our overall objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams, including IT, operations, and teams, to lead understanding and integration of finance transformation efforts with broader organizational objectives.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, and ways of working within the finance team and across the organization.
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing financial processes and workflows and lead efforts to streamline and increase them.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement new financial technologies and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, within the finance department.
  • Manage critical business strategies by maintaining and further developing the finance ecosystem (technology and process) collaborating with FP&A, Accounting, People, and other system partners.
  • Lead deployment of home grown and cloud-based tools released for our financial system; including requirements, testing and communication to partners.
  • Develop, document, and implement policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data integrity, standardized end-user processes and minimize manual intervention.
  • Design business solutions to promote integration between finance systems; foster a culture of continuous improvements.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years experience in finance, accounting, or related roles, with a experience leading successful finance transformation initiatives.

Pay Transparency:

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
