Description
The Financial Planning Associate (FPA) is part of the client facing service team of advisory professionals fulfilling TCI's mission to empower purpose filled lives. The FPA will perform a wide range of planning and research related tasks including analyzing financial data, administering planning software, composing client deliverables, and preparing financial plans. A successful candidate will have strong critical thinking skills, work independently, and anticipate advisory team needs in service to the client. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various service roles and work styles.

The FPA can expect to focus the planning process in the following areas reflective of TCI's client standard of care:
- Financial education for clients and their families
- Insurance planning/risk management
- Estate planning
- Tax planning and analysis
- Cash flow management
POSITION RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist advisory teams with several elements of the Financial Planning process including, but not limited to:
- Analyzing data from current or prospective clients, including assets, liabilities, insurance policies, estate documents, and tax returns
- Analyzing overall asset class allocations of both current and prospective client portfolios and comparing them to target allocations
- Evaluating investment options available in outside accounts and implementing account allocations with respect to client's investment objectives
- Create net worth statements
- Utilize Financial Planning software to create and maintain financial plans for prospects and clients
- Summarize key components of life, disability, and long-term care insurance
- Research Financial Planning issues and contact/collaborate with outside experts as necessary
Attend client meetings in a technical and support role:
- Prepare and present cash flow analysis to prospective and current clients
- Assist with documenting information relative to the development of financial plans and other related workflows
- Utilize analytical tools to identify and provide client planning opportunities to Advisors in specific planning areas
being performed. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelors Degree required
- Series 65 license or can be obtained within the first year of employment
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience providing superior client service, preferably within a financial services environment or similar professional setting

- Experience utilizing Financial Planning software (EMoney, HolistiPlan, etc.) and client management software (Salesforce, Tamarac, etc.) preferred
- Manage a variety of complex projects, be adaptable, and able to reassess priorities, possess the drive to strategize and problem solve
- Demonstrated understanding and respect for the nature of highly confidential environments, documentation, and relationships
- Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients and Team TCI
- Demonstrate professional, ethical, and courteous conduct in responsibilities and dealings with clients, prospects, COIs, colleagues, and other business entities with which TCI has a relationship
