Location: Remote (may need to be onsite for team meetings in Houston, TX)

Hours: Flexible

Duration: 4-5 months

Pay: Hourly D.O.E.

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Modeler for a contract. You will have an excellent understanding of Excel (or other spreadsheet software) and use that to perform complex financial analyses of projects for clients.

Your duties will include analyzing financial modeling and transactions, performing sensitivity and other ad hoc analyses, and creating and conducting presentations for clients based on the results. The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines is a must.

Responsibilities

• Review the existing financial model
• Recommend updates to the model
• Develop the financial project plan, including assumptions 7 risk assessments
• Implementation of revised financial model
• Use Excel to produce high-quality spreadsheets and reports for clients
• Use financial analysis tools to evaluate portfolio options and advise clients
• Provide predictive forecasts, such as expected raw material needs or anticipated sales figures
• Create and present easy-to-understand models for clients
• Identify new business opportunities, such as undervalued securities or untapped revenue streams
• Work with a team of financial analysts or other financial modeling analysts for decision-making and forecasting

Qualifications and Skill Sets

• A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, accounting, or finance; master's degree, CFA, or diploma in financial planning a plus
• Mastery Excel skills or experience with similar spreadsheet software, including the use of charts, macros, and VBA
• Strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and a solid understanding of financial analysis terminology and best practices, such as DCF and financial statements
• A keen eye for detail and an ability to sift through large data sets to extract meaningful information
• Excellent time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Flexible work schedule
• Public sector experience
