Summary of Major Functions:
Responsible for all general accounting, billing, accounts receivable, financial reporting, financial planning, and information systems of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination, and periodic review of direct staff.
- Leads in the development, documentation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, including but not limited to defining and enforcing key controls over financial and company operations, including appropriate segregation of duties.
- Identify and execute opportunities to re-engineer and improve accounting and financial reporting processes and efficiencies.
- Manage in a "no surprises" manner; proactively communicating financial issues and opportunities.
Reporting Responsibilities:
- Directs the billing department and oversees full revenue cycle management.
- Manages/oversees SCA's, insurance contracts and credentialing processes.
- Prepares/oversees recurring, timely and accurate census and financial closure, reporting, trends, budgets, commentary and analysis including preparing necessary narrative summaries and related presentations for CEO, department leadership and Board of Director as and when directed by CEO.
- Ongoing review of staffing models with CEO and department heads for efficiency and budgetary objectives.
- Prepares annual budget by end of November for each subsequent year utilizing historical information, future projections, and input from department leaders.
- Provide input on risk management and recommendations.
- Oversees and monitors banking/treasury functions and prepares weekly cash flow analysis to ensure ongoing liquidity.
- Assists in drafting and presenting business plans, investment memorandums expansion analysis, proformas and forecasted budgets internally and to external parties.
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate new businesses, programs acquisitions, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new business, new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Oversee all duties related to audit and tax.
- Assures procurement of business, malpractice, and other insurance coverage.
- Negotiates property leases and acquisitions.
- Assures timely filing and paying of Income, Property, Payroll & Sales Taxes.
- Maintains relations with banks, auditors, outside legal counsel, insurance agencies, IT and other third parties relevant to these responsibilities.
- Assists Human Resources Director with benefit management and payroll functions as needed
- Collaborates with the Human Resource Director on general and company compensation, generating market salary data reports, and
- Participates as a trustee and manager of EDCare's 401(k) plan.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by the CFO/CEO.
Minimum Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Accounting related field of study
- Minimum 10 years experience working in the accounting field. Experience can be a combination of public accounting and private industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- CPA preferred
- Behavioral Healthcare experience preferred
- Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system.
- Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within various software products.
- Advanced MS Excel skills-word, powerpoint
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills
Computer Skills:
- Minimum of advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite.

Physical Demands and Environment:
Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking frequently, hearing frequently, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately. This position requires lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally.
Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to:
99% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a medical office environment.
