Our client is currently seeking a Finance Analyst who will work collaboratively within the finance team, as well as across the broader operations team, to support projects, compliance work, and vendor relations. The ideal candidate will bring a background in finance or accounting and will be able to help build processes and track the progress of initiatives within the finance department.
It is essential for this individual to show flexibility to work functionally across departments in effort to build relationships while always demonstrating a positive attitude and the ability to learn and work well with others. This position requires a candidate to take initiative and show discretion while completing assignments with/without supervision. Being a multi-functional team player with a “can do” attitude, while keeping up with a fast-paced changing environment and processes are essential. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all tax related filings and matters, including filing state sales tax.
  • Manage customer registration process, including providing clear guidance to others included in the process.
  • Manage and complete filings to comply with charitable solicitation guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues and implement procedures for monitoring compliance guidelines.
  • Bring the organization up to compliance standards and assist in filing all necessary tax and documents and annual reports, business licenses and other filings with the support of outside contractors.
  • Research and report on regulatory changes to ensure compliance, as directed.
  • Re-train employees and resolve matters in the event of compliance guideline violations.
  • Assist with training new employees in compliance procedures as needed.
  • Other projects as assigned.

  • Demonstrate significant competence in handling confidential information.
  • Self-starter and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Proof of organization and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Learn innovative programs/processes and suggest necessary changes.
  • Deadline oriented and organized to ensure accurate and timely submission of all compliance documents.


EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • At least 4 years of experience in a finance or compliance related field

OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
  • Solid writing, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skill
  • Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with a diverse array of individuals and constituents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to distill complex technical information into succinct, understandable language.
