JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
NOTE: The following are major responsibilities of this position. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority.
- Building and validating models from large datasets using tools such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
- Implement and work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support business decisions and strategy.
- Perform credit risk analysis of potential customers.
- Assist with month-end accounting closing processes and variance analysis.
- Sophomore Year completed - rising Junior or Senior, majoring in Business/Management, Math, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or Engineering bachelor's degree.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including complex integrated financial models and business cases.
- Basic knowledge of basic accounting debits and credits, and accounting financial statements.
- Understanding of data analysis, model building, and model validation
- Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience with statistical or analytics software (SQL, R, Stata, SPSS, etc.)
- Advanced Data Analysis skills (Regressions, Monte Carlo Simulations, etc.)
- Internship or prior relevant work experience
- Excellent academic record
The purpose of the Gas South Internship Program is to:
- 10 Week Paid Internship Program
- Provide completion of special projects and filling any gaps during peak workloads.
- Perform fundamental tasks freeing permanent employees to do higher priority work.
- Facilitate intern learning activities outside the main job duties for which they are hired to foster team engagement and holistic experience for all interns.
- Provide the opportunity to apply classroom theory to "real world" situations thus enhancing the intern's academic and career goals.
- Engage interns with other employees to share their dedication, motivation and influence our work environments.
- Provide interaction with Senior Management and leadership by formally presenting their experiences at the end of the program.
