Financial Analyst (Part-Time, Contract To Hire)

We are seeking a Part-Time Financial Analyst to create models and forecasts of our business and market conditions. You will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing data ranging from: proposals, investment opportunities, capital expenditures, depreciation, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, and more.

This role will start as a Contract role, with the potential to transition to full-time employment as our needs ramp up. This role will be mostly remote, with eventual full-time employment being fully onsite in our Herndon, VA office. You can expect between 10 – 20 hours of work per week; or, roughly 30% per month. Our ideal candidate is someone from a quantitative background (e.g. banking or consulting).

Your day-to-day:

• Improve, execute, and effectively communicate significant analyses that identify meaningful trends and opportunities across the business
• Provide strong, timely financial and business analytics for decisions by partners and organizational stakeholders
• Develop financial models to support valuations, planning, and forecasting
• Analyze local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry
• Provide ad hoc support including, but not limited to, analysis, data calls, financial management, risk management, audits, and project management-related tasks

What your background looks like:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field; or, equivalent experience
• Strong Excel skills – specifically, experience with DCF, 3 statement, Debt Service, and LBO modeling
• Strong organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to summarize and explain complex information to others
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with an innovative approach to business planning
• Advanced analytical skills, with experience collecting, organizing, and disseminating abundant information accurately
• Detail-oriented and strict attention and appreciation for deadlines
• Advanced knowledge of business model design
