Financial Aid Advisor

Kavaliro is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor for a client in Clermont, FL.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one Financial Aid counseling to students and families, assisting with the completion of Financial Aid applications, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Evaluate student eligibility for various Financial Aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities, in accordance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
Review and verify Financial Aid documents, including tax returns, income statements, and other supporting documentation, to determine accurate award amounts and eligibility.
Utilize Financial Aid management systems such as Banner, COD (Common Origination and Disbursement), NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System), and FAAAccess to access student records, process aid awards, and reconcile student accounts.
Conduct outreach and Financial Aid workshops to educate students and families about Financial Aid resources, deadlines, and requirements.
Collaborate with academic advisors, admissions counselors, and other campus stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of Financial Aid services and support student retention and success initiatives.
Stay informed about changes in federal and state Financial Aid regulations, policies, and procedures, and communicate updates to relevant staff and students as needed.
Assist with the development and implementation of strategies to improve Financial Aid processes, enhance customer service, and promote financial literacy among students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, education, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Financial Aid administration, preferably in a higher education setting.
Proficiency in Financial Aid management systems, including Banner, COD, NSLDS, and FAAAccess.
Strong understanding of federal Financial Aid programs, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, families, and colleagues.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
