Job description

What You Will Do
The Finance Undergraduate/Post-Baccalaureate Internship Program is a year-round internship program that provides business students with relevant professional experience before pursuing an advanced degree. Students will work and train with finance professionals in a variety of organizations. We offer competitive compensation and value the contributions of all team members. Be a part of our important national security mission by joining the Laboratory today!
The FIN-DIR student position requires participation in the Pipeline program. The program pairs up the student with a mentor, subject matter experts, as well as required attendance on site (usually one day every week). The purpose of the program is to provide the student with basic training on the financial systems, laboratory navigation, financial procedures & documents. Upon completion of the Pipeline Program students will be deployed throughout the Finance Division.
Students will be expected to join the Finance Division MBA program. The MBA program, offered through New Mexico State University, allows individuals to obtain their MBA in 24 months online while securing an opportunity for a full-time position at Los Alamos National Laboratory with all tuition and fees covered.
The Undergraduate Internship Program is for students that have not yet completed their baccalaureates degree. If hired under this program, there is the potential to be converted to a post-Baccalaureate position.
The Post-Baccalaureate category offers college graduates the opportunity to participate in the UGS program after graduation. This category applies to those interns who have been awarded a bachelor's degree within the past three years but have not yet been accepted and enrolled in a graduate program. Post-baccalaureate interns may remain in this category for up to two years. Interns should use this appointment to prepare for graduate school acceptance (e.g., GRE/GMAT exams, applications, etc.). An intern may move into GRA status when documentation is provided indicating the intern's intention to accept an offer of admission to a graduate program. Interns who have not been accepted into graduate school at the end of their appointment are no longer eligible to participate in the program.
