As the West Salem, OH, Plant Finance Manager - you are responsible for all financial functions at the plant. Will collaborate closely with the plant leadership team to clearly and concisely communicate results and provide analysis related to costs, budgets, policies of operations, trends and potential cost savings opportunities that ensure alignment for Strategic Planning, Plan and Projections. Will also provide hands-on financial support to the management teams to ensure successful understanding and execution of financial objectives.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
- Strategic Financial Planning: Lead the development and execution of the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for the Plant Operations group. Collaborate with executive leadership to establish ambitious financial goals and strategic initiatives that align with the company's growth targets.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly/quarterly business reviews, variance analysis, and KPIs. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support decision-making and drive financial performance with Plant Operations.
- Forecasting and Modeling: Develop and refine robust financial models and forecasting methodologies to assess business performance and predict future outcomes. Continuously improve forecasting techniques to enhance accuracy and provide early warning indicators.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Engineering, to understand key business drivers, identify opportunities for growth, and evaluate investment decisions. Act as a strategic advisor to senior management, providing financial insights, scenario analysis, and guidance.
- Financial Strategy: Contribute to the development of financial strategies that support and accelerate operations productivity objectives. Evaluate new business initiatives, expansion plans, and market penetration strategies. Be an active, contributing participant in “Lean Manufacturing” and continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
- Capital Allocation and Investment Analysis: Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct financial analysis, due diligence, and return on investment assessments to support capital allocation decisions.
- Financial Integrity: Serve as the financial conscience of the plant, use a positive, team player approach. Ensure plants maintain SOX 404 compliance and audit internal controls to ensure that compliance is maintained and sustained. Advocates the safety policies and procedures within the plant and participate in safety inspections and activities as required.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive experience within FP&A; manufacturing environment preferred. Or 3+ years in public accounting.
- 3+ years of direct leadership experience utilizing influence, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- MBA/CPA preferred.

- Highly motivated, forward-thinking, strategic mindset individual with the ability to translate financial analysis and strategy into actionable results that drive productivity and growth for Plant Operations.
- Demonstrated skills collaborating with business partners in matrixed organization, identifying opportunities, creating buy-in, and executing on ideas – driving productivity and effectiveness of the team and division.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills in MS Excel (waterfall charts, pivot tables, slicers, macros)
- Experience with SAP accounting software, and ancillary systems (OneStream, SmartView, Tableau).
- Deep understanding of financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), budgeting, forecasting techniques, and valuation models (NPV, IRR)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to clearly articulate through email, text, telepresence, and formal presentations, Advance PowerPoint experience a plus.
