Position Summary:

The Accounting Intern will perform general accounting duties, such as assisting with monthly close processes, fixed asset records, and account reconciliations. The successful candidate will be a current undergraduate student or recent graduate and no previous work experience is required. This intern will report to the Assistant Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support initiatives within the Controller's Group, including the areas of corporate accounting, consolidations, external reporting and technical accounting. Interns may also rotate through other Corporate Finance functions, to obtain a basic understanding of the duties within each operation.
• Support the monthly close by assisting in the consolidation of the results of all subsidiary companies and preparing the appropriate inter-company reconciliations (includes verifying foreign currency exchange translation).
• Assist with the monthly closing process including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation and review of certain monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages and participate in review meetings with corresponding lines of business.
• Perform other duties as assigned (including assisting other finance functions on an as needed basis).

Qualifications:

• Must possess general knowledge of accounting and Microsoft Office.
• The successful candidate will preferably have completed a minimum of their sophomore year and be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a Business Administration - Accounting degree program, or a related field of study. A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred, however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
