As a Finance Implementation Specialist, you will hold the key to unlocking the full potential of our financial systems, particularly in the implementation, integration, and testing of the Deltek CostPoint account software. Picture this - your expertise will be the catalyst, preventing inefficiencies, boosting productivity, and curbing unnecessary costs caused by system downtime and user frustration.
In this pivotal, Independent Contractor role, you'll have the chance to be a driving force in our Contracts and Finance Department, ensuring compliance with General Acceptable Accounting Practices [GAAP], industry best practices, and making substantial improvements.
The responsibilities and duties for the Finance Implementation Specialist will include, but are not limited to:
Implementation:
- Research the existing Deltek CostPoint [CP] contract and document the currently purchased modules/components in written narrative for review.
- Create a master project plan, detailing:
- Scope Statement
- Deliverables o Work Breakdown Structure/Tasks
- Schedule
- Budget
- Estimates
- Costs
- Payment Terms
- Quality Assurance
- Human Resources Plan
- Major Milestones
- Assist in data recording, data input, and data acquisition for installing the customized CP with all necessary and new components.
- Creating a weekly report and monthly report that details:
- Objectives
- Project status
- Metrics and/or KPIs as applicable
- Progress made in the prior month
- Planned activities for the upcoming month
- Potential risks or hurdles that require intervention from senior leadership Accomplishments
Education & Training:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (desired)

Skills/Experience:
- Six to eight [6 to 8] years of work experience, with a minimum of four [4] years in an aligned discipline (i.e., bookkeeping, finance, accounting, etc.)
- Working experience within a Government Contracting company highly preferred
- Computer proficiency in MS Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, Visio), and internet
- Working knowledge of Deltek CostPoint required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and project management skills
- Strict adherence to confidentiality, privacy, rules and regulations
Rate & Project Duration:
- $40-$45 per hour
- 6-8 months
